The staircase must be located in the south-western corner. You may also place it on the southern side or the western side.
There must not be a bedroom right after the end of the staircase, as this weakens the person and can lead to various health problems.
The staircase must not be in the middle of the house. Steps may be at the centre of a common public place, such as a government building or bank, but not a home.
The north-eastern direction is forbidden, as it may cause financial problems for the family.

A light colour is preferable for the staircase. A bathroom or worship room must not be placed under the staircase.
A room with a staircase on the south-western side is bad for a residence and leads to trouble such as tension and blood-related diseases, which may be incurable.
