Best direction
The south-east (Agneya) is the ideal kitchen zone. The north-west is the second-best option. Avoid kitchens in the north-east, south-west and centre of the house.
Stove (gas or hob)
- Place the stove in the south-east part of the kitchen.
- The cook should face east while cooking.
- Keep the stove a little away from the walls, not touching them.
- Do not place the stove directly under a window or facing the kitchen door.
Sink and water
- Place the sink and water purifier in the north-east of the kitchen.
- Keep the sink and stove apart; fire and water should not sit side by side.
Fridge, microwave and storage
- Fridge in the south-west, south or west; never in the north-east.
- Microwave and oven in the south-east.
- Grain and heavy storage on the south and west walls.

Keep the kitchen clean and well ventilated, wash utensils before sleeping, and repair leaking taps quickly, as leaks are linked with money loss.
