What is Vaastu?

Vaastu is an ancient Indian science that deals with creating a harmonious energy field in a structure, whether it relates to the construction of a home, office, factory, temple, commercial space, or anything else. It goes beyond any single religion and helps in planning an auspicious structure. Through it, we gain many benefits: it protects us from the negative effects of life and helps us achieve wealth and good health from the place we live in. Vaastu helps make our lives better.

The basics of Vaastu rest on two energy sources: solar energy and geomagnetic energy. There are also five basic elements on this planet — Earth, Water, Air, Fire, and Sky — and the key to Vaastu is balancing these five elements in harmony by keeping them in their correct directions.

If you already have a house, shop, factory, or similar structure that was not properly planned according to Vaastu rules, several remedies are available to partially counter these adverse effects. A few exceptions, however, cannot be corrected — for instance, the Pooja Ghar (worship room) should only be in the north-east corner, and there is no remedy if it has been placed in any other direction.
