Best direction
Place the cash counter in the south-west or south of the shop, so that the person at the counter faces north or east. The cash drawer should open towards the north, the direction of Kubera.
Counter design
- Rectangular or square counters are best.
- Use wood or a solid material.
- Keep the counter at a comfortable height, neither too low nor too high.
Do's
- Keep the counter clean and organised.
- Keep a small mirror reflecting the cash drawer.
- Place a Lakshmi or Kubera yantra near the counter.
Don'ts
- Do not place the cash counter in the north-east.
- Avoid placing it under a beam.
- Avoid sitting with your back to the entrance.
- Do not keep the cash drawer completely empty.
