Arunachal Pradesh is one of the most beautiful states of northeast India. Its name literally means “land of dawn-lit mountains” and is a famous tourist attraction for its valleys and mountain ranges. There are many traditional festivals celebrated in Arunachal Pradesh, the most famous of which is the Siang River Festival. This festival celebrates the communal harmony of this diverse state. This was a part of the Brahmaputra Darshan Festival till 2004. Now, it is celebrated in the regions of Turing, Pasighat, and Yingkiong as the Siang River Festival. The main of this festival is to promote ecotourism and it is filled with fun games and cultural shows.
Some other modern festivals of Arunachal Pradesh are the Pangsau Pass Winter Festival and the Ziro Festival of Music. The winter festival is a 3-day celebration held in the Changlang District. The Ziro is a very famous music festival of Arunanchal Pradesh that observes artists from all over the world come together and hold outdoor events. Other festivals celebrated in this state are Solung, which marks the starting of the monsoon, Nyokum, celebrated by the Nyishi Tribe, Losar festival, Dree festival, Boori Boot, Loku, Sanken and many other diverse and beautiful celebrations.
