The comic actor of the Indian film industry Md. Umar Mukri was born on 5 th Jan, 1922 in Alibagh. He used to work as a Qazi before joinging the film industry. He married Mumtaz and had five children. He debuted from the film Pratima in 1945 which remained unrecognized. He did over 600 films for more than 50 years of career. Some of his films are Mother India as Shambu, Lawaris as Gaffoor Bhai, Sharabi as Natthulal, Ram Lakhan as Dhondu Nai, Coolie as Mr. Iyengar, Karz as college principal etc. He died on 4 th Sept, 2000 at the age of 78.
