He is memorable for his convincing portrayal of the character of any level. He debuted with movies Barmar Patheand Tatinir Bichar. He portrayed the character of Chinese vendor very convincingly atNeel Akasher Neechey(1959). He went on to star in notable movies with memorable characters such asTeen Kanya(1961), Aparajito(1956), Ajantrik(1958), Nagarik(1952), Kinu Gowalar Goli,Gurudokkhina, Kabuliwala(1956), Bawarchi(1972), Barjatri(1951), Rani Bhabani(1952), Raat Bhore(1955), Shilpi(1956), Abirbhab(1995) and many more. He died on 5 July 1993.
