He portrayed the character of Chinese vendor very convincingly atNeel Akasher Neechey(1959). He went on to star in notable movies with memorable characters such asTeen Kanya(1961), Aparajito(1956), Ajantrik(1958), Nagarik(1952), Kinu Gowalar Goli,Gurudokkhina, Kabuliwala(1956), Bawarchi(1972), Barjatri(1951), Rani Bhabani(1952), Raat Bhore(1955), Shilpi(1956), Abirbhab(1995) and many more. He died on 5 July 1993.
